Asheville – Richard Linwood Prieur, 74, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Mission Hospital. Richard was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Joseph Alfred Prieur and Martha Jane Foreman Prieur and was raised in Onaway, Michigan. He was also preceded in death by his fourteen brothers and sisters. Mr. Prieur was a veteran of the United States Army and worked with the Genesee School system in Michigan where he was involved in maintenance and bus driving. He is survived by his wife Barbara J. Prieur; a daughter, Vicki Randall and her husband Dr. Eric Randall and their three children Hannah, Hailey and Oliver and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins who were all an important part of his life. No services are scheduled at this time but a military honors memorial service will be held at a later date in Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.

  1. Our heart is broken to lose such a good person like Dick (Frenchie). We love him very much and will always remember the fun we had. How he was so good to our sons when they where young. Our Love to Barb, Vickie and her family. The Cicalo family

  2. What a wonderful neighbor. If we needed anything Dick had it to fix it. My heart is broken to pass by my house and not see him in the yard or sitting on the porch. What a wonderful person. He will be missed by so many. My prayers are with Barb,Vicki,Eric,Hannah,Hailey and Oliver.

  3. All of us at Kosta’s Kitchen restaurant will miss Dick. He was always pleasant and would joke around with the staff. We wish to express our condolenses to his wife Barbara.
