Richard O. Willis, 66, of 162 Brevard Road, Asheville, died Thursday, February 18, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.

Mr. Willis was born in Henderson County and was a son of the late John A. and Golda Parker Willis. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired from Great Lakes Steel.

He is survived by four daughters, Debra Rocz, Brenda Bastin, Dianne Witherspoon, and Pamela Foshee; a son, Richard Willis; three step-daughters, ALice Stover, Tina Pieczarka, and Janice Kimbrough; a step-son, Richard Foshee; two sisters, Jolena Moore and Betty Jean Laws; two brothers, James E. Willis and David E. Willis, and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating.

His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
