Ricky "Rick" Dean Case

Ricky “Rick” Dean Case, 68, of Naples, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Advent Health.

A native of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Woody and Louise Case.

Rick loved the Lord and made that known up until his final breaths. He adored his family and absolutely treasured his grandchildren who referred to him as “Poppie”. He never met a stranger. Rick was such a selfless and humble man who would do anything for anyone and never expected anything in return. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could easily light up any room. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar, fishing and watching classic TV shows like Andy Griffith and Gunsmoke. Rick had so much pride for his home and especially his yard where he would be found most days working along with his dog “Chewy”. He worked for UPS for many years and went on to retire from there.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Teresa Capps Case; two daughters, Amanda Yates (Peter) of Fort Mill, SC and Brittany Metcalfe (Eddie) of Hendersonville; one son, Chad Case of Candler; a sister, Cathy Ledford (Mike) of Naples; a brother, Gary Case (Joyce) of Fletcher; three grandchildren, Miranda, Connor and Lilee as well as a nephew who was like a son to Rick, Cody Ledford (Nickii) of Rutherfordton.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 PM. Private burial will be held at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Mills River.
