Robert Russell Donnelly, 67, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Givens Estates in Asheville.
Mr. Donnelly was born in Lynchburg, VA on June 24, 1949. He was a Veteran of the US Marines and served in Vietnam.
Bob was formerly employed with Wachovia Bank and then pursued a career in real estate and automotive sales. He loved the outdoors and spending time with friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Jacquelyn Donnelly; a brother, Mike Donnelly; Janice Cook and her extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Givens Estates "Resident Assistance Ministry", 2360 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
No services are scheduled and Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting

So very sorry. We had a great time in high school. Rest in Peace, Bob. Caring thoughts to family and friends.

After high school and college I worked with Bob at Wachovia. He was very well-liked and I am saddened to learn of his passing. My sympathies to Mike and to Jackie, his beloved daughter.
So very sorry to hear about Robert (Bob) passing. He was such a dear friend. I will miss you but will see you in Heaven when my time comes.
I know this has been hard Mike and Janice and the extended family.
The short, brief time line of your life can never show the many people’s lives that were better because they knew you. You have always been the fairest of friends. Loyal, funny, stubborn, and genuine. I always loved to hear you laugh!
You continuously loved your family, even when others might have just given up. It was admirable and heart breaking to watch. But anything less would not have been you. My heartfelt condolences to your family and friends.

i am so sorry to have just learned of bobs’ passing. he was a good friend of mine and we worked together at goodyear in arden.
