Robert Howard Parks, 95, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018, at the Charles George Veterans Hospice Center.
Born in San Diego, CA, Mr. Parks was a son of the late George Milton and Gertrude Levins Parks. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert H. Parks, Jr. He had lived in Asheville since 1992.
Mr. Parks was an Air Force veteran and Purple Heart recipient, serving in both WWII and Korea. He was a former resident of Houston, TX, where he served in law enforcement.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Kellogg Parks; daughter, Sandra Forsythe; son, Randall Parks (Julie); grandchildren, Courtney and Dylan Parks, Christopher Forsythe, Brandy Jones, Jennifer Meraz and Jocelyn Parks; brother, Elwyn Parks; sister Georgina Parks Bailey (Ted); step-children, Suzette Parks, Irvin Lindsey, David Lindsey and Kathleen Cutchin, and a number of great-grandchildren.
Military honors and burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC.
