Robert L. Huff, 77, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2010.
Mr. Huff was born July 20, 1933, in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Frank Huff and Edna Reeves Huff Brown. He was also preceded in death by a son, Chris Huff, and a sister, Eleanor Huff Crutcher.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired after 38 years with Norfolk Southern Railway.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie G. Ray Huff; a daughter, Penny Stevens and husband, Danny, of Leicester; granddaughters, Shelley and Lindsey; and brothers, Harold Huff and wife Rosa Lee, of Virginia, and Perry Huff and wife, Peggy, of Leicester.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Bell United Methodist Cemetery Fund, PO Box 581, Leicester, NC 28748.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with the arrangements.

We were so shocked to hear about Robert’s passing and so sorry we haven’t accknowledged it before now. We really liked Robert, he was a very wonderful person with a great personality and had a beautiful smile. We didn’t get to see him very often but he always made us feel welcome in his home.
