Bob was an accomplished artist, pianist and vocalist. For several years, he was the choir director of First Congregational of Asheville. He later was a soloist at All Souls Episcopal Church. Thank you, Mr. Henson for instilling in me a love of art and art history. Since I graduated from CDS, I’ve been to countless art museums and have always said that everything I know and love about art I learned from you in AP art history at CDS. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher and friend to all of us. You will be missed!
Great memories of a beautiful voice, a marvelous teacher and a wonderful trip in March 1980 to Italy and Greece with Mr Henson. He taught me so much about Art and Art History. Our loss yet Heaven’s reward.
To the family of Robert Nelson Henson,
I am sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that God is ‘near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.’ (Psalm 34;18) With sympathy,
Thank you, Mr. Henson, for 13 years of inspiration – from B.I.N.G.O. to Dark Side of the Moon. I hope my daughter has a teacher like you.
Dear Henson family,
I am sorry for your loss. As the days and weeks go by, may you draw closer to Jehovah God in prayer and allow Him to sustain you.- Psalm 55:22
A wonderful and talented teacher who will be missed by all…….
It was an honor to be one of Mr Henson’s students and advisees. He had a true artist’s temperment, and respected each student’s individual needs. His dedication helped me continue to seek a higher education in the arts. I am a better person for having Mr Henson as my teacher, and I will carry fond memories and lessons for the rest of my life. Although I did not know Ms. Henson personally, I wanted to extend my condolences to your family on the loss of your loved one. May you, in your time of sorrow, take comfort in 1 Corinthians 15:26.
Though not their father, he was a man blessed with many, many children. I cannot imagine Carolina Day without him.
Bob and I shared many plays together and late nights at ACT. He will always be remembered. He was a wonderful person.
Bob, I loved knowing you—first through the All Souls choir and then at ACDS as faculty and then as a parent. Still want to take Art History…..
