Roger Dale Smith, 78, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at his home.

Mr. Smith was born June 14, 1944, in Asheville, to the late Grover Cleveland Smith and Faye Hannah Smith. He was a Navy veteran and retired glass blower at Ball Brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Elliott Smith; daughters, Deborah Case (David) and Rhonda Schultz; son, Scott Smith (Trisha); seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Cogburn and Patsy Ray (Tom) and brother, Michael Smith (Joyce).

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the. Rev. Ron Brown and Pastor Allen Rash officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy Honors Team. Private burial will be at Gillespie Evergreen Cemetery, Brevard.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
