Ronald “Pops” Earl Brevard, 78, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Brevard was born in Henderson County to the late Rev. DK Brevard and Jeanette Baldwin Brevard. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Brevard.
Ron graduated West Henderson High School and then went on to A-B Tech and Western Carolina University to earn his Mechanical Engineer degree. He worked with Stencil Engineering and became an Aerospace Engineer. He was a brilliant man who always was thinking of new ways to invent everything. Of all his accomplishments his family was his greatest. He loved them well and was extremely proud. Ron was a devoted and charter member of Skyland First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Watson Brevard; two daughters, Ronda McNeill (Chad) and Renee Mercado (Daniel); a brother, Randy Brevard (Patcie); a sister-in-law, Nellie Brevard; four grandchildren, Ian McNeill, Rebekah Johnson (Mason), Eli Mercado and Sarah Mercado and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at Skyland First Baptist Church in Arden with Pastor Robert Ponder officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Church prior to the service.
Burial will follow after a family meal at 3:30 pm at Shepherd Memorial Park.

Ronnie was a kind and sweet man. Always would make the time to come over and talk with us about anything, We will miss him so much. Prayers to his family!

I am so very sorry for your loss, – what a shock, as he was just at prayer meeting/ bible study a week ago!!!

Ron gave me my first job as a machine designer. I worked for him 3 times for a total of about 7 years. Just last week I was bragging about he is still the best machine conceptualized I have ever worked with. I will miss him
