  7. Roy was the best Bible teacher I ever sat under. In addition he became my neighbor and I count Roy and Rose both as two of my dearest friends. I miss him already!

  8. Our sincere sympathy to all Roy’s family. We have wonderful memories of our trips with Roy while he was at Christian Tours. He could light up a group with his personality and keep us entertained very well. Goodbye old friend, see you soon.

  9. Our sincere condolences to Mrs. Rose and family. We loved preacher Roy and Mrs. Rose while he served as interim pastor at Cane River Baptist in Yancey County. He always referred to himself as our “Rent-a-Preacher.” What a legacy he leaves for loved ones to follow.

  10. Sorry to hear about his passing. I remember coming to visit papa Charles when I was very young and going over there and swimming. My mother is Barbara Ann Rigdon Spell. Her father was his brother, Charles T. Rigdon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  11. Dear Rose, We are so sorry to learn of Roy’s passing! He was loved by so many people, including us. We have so many fond memories of him at Beaverdam Baptist Church – his sense of humor, the pranks he would pull, his love for over-stuffed buffet tables on Wednesday “Family Nights”, the good old-fashioned revivals at the picnic shelter, and his love for the Lord…. It means a great deal to us that he performed our wedding ceremony. I also enjoyed our Friday morning breakfasts at IHOP. We know he is in heaven with his Savior. We just hope he is behaving himself for a change. Smile. Love and prayers, Chris and Laura Roberts

  12. Dear Rigdon family, heaven gained a fine man! Loved them so much when he intermed at Dutch Cove Baptist in Canton. Please accept my prayers and sympathy. Sincerely, Pat Williams
