Roy W. Smith, 69, of Simpsonville, SC went to be with our Lord and Saviour on June 30, 2022. He was at the home he shared with his wife Teresa. Roy and Teresa had 45 years of marriage.

He was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to the Late Calvin Dewey Smith and Hazel Smith of Asheville, NC. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Parrott Smith; one son, Roy William Smith, Jr.; two daughters; Chrystal Schauder and Angela Mistretta; and one brother, Calvin D. Smith, Jr. He is survived by 8 grandchildren.

Mr. Smith graduated for A.C. Reynolds High School in 1971. He served 6 years in the Navy on the USS Tecumseh. He retired from IBM after 40 years of service.

He will be dearly missed by his family.

A Memorial Service is planned for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home Tunnel Road. A burial will follow in the WNC State Veterans Cemetery.
