Ruby Rathbone Caldwell

Ruby Rathbone Caldwell, 78, of Big Sandy Mush, Leicester, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012. A native of Haywood Co., Mrs. Caldwell was a daughter of the late Orville and Carlene Cody Rathbone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Caldwell; a son, John Daniel Caldwell; a brother, Dutch Rathbone; and a sister, Mary Alice Rathbone. Mrs. Caldwell worked with her husband on the family farm. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Joann Karn and her husband, Melvin; a son, Ronnie Caldwell and his wife, Becky; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sisters Hester Cagle, Regina Meadows and her husband, Virgil, Evelyn Meadows, and Kathryn Morgan and her husband, Arnold. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
