Rubye Foust Owenby

Rubye Foust Owenby, 79, of 136 Dye Leaf Rd., Fairview, died Sunday, December 10, 2000 in an Asheville Hospital. Mrs. Owenby was a member of Laurel Pines Baptist Church and was a native of Lake City, TN. She was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Lela Powell Foust and was also preceded in death by a grandson Jeffery Allan Owenby. Survivors include her husband, W. Fred Owenby; daughters, Kathey Owenby of Fairview, Frances Rucker of Black Mountain; sons, Freddie Owenby of Fairview, Carroll Owenby of Charlotte; sisters, Willa D. Victory of Nashville, TN, Barbara Vincent of Cincinnati, OH, Kathleen Wissinger of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Susan Weaver, Sammy Sales, Bo Owenby, Ben Owenby, Sandra Owenby and Jeremy Herring. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Harris will officiate with burial following in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home.
