Ruth Elizabeth Cash

Mrs. Cash was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Cares and Addie Foster Rash.  She was married to the late Chester Cash, who died in 1991.

She is survived by five daughters, Phyllis Schermerhorn and Kimberly Young of Asheville, Pamela Stahura of Groten, CT, Deborah Shellmandine of Johnstown, NY, and Beverly Preston of Manahawkin, NJ;  three sons, Gary Wallinger and Mark Cash of Asheville, and Rodney Cash of Candler;  a sister, Naomi Martin of Asheville;  five brothers, Calvin, Lemar, Juby, Dois, and Verlon Rash of Asheville;  seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 4:00 pm Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Allan Blankenship officiating.

Her f amily  will receive friends from 3 - 3:45 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
