Ruth Harwood Alexander

On Friday, Earth lost a wonderful soul. A loving wife, and mother to three children, Ruth Harwood Alexander, went to her heavenly home to be with her husband, William Wallace Alexander. In addition to Mr. Alexander, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill Harwood, Dan Harwood, John Harwood, Sarah Robinson, Zetta Ball, Gertrude King, and JoAlice Miller. She is survived by three children, Jim Alexander, Michael Alexander, and Linda Israel and husband Mike; and several grandchildren who she loved dearly: Daniel Alexander, Kela Alexander, Angel Cahill and husband John, Clint Ingle, Travis Ingle, and Cris Alexander and wife Crystal. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel, in Black Mountain. Her family wishes to express their thanks to the CarePartners Solace staff for their support of and care for Mrs. Alexander, especially to Susan Malter, Morgan White, and all of the dear friends whom their mother loved.
