Sarah Collins Wyard died at home in Asheville, NC on October 5, 2023.

Mrs. Wyard was born in Duluth, MN, the second of twin girls. She attended the Laboratory School of Duluth State Teachers College, Stanbrook Hall and graduated with an Associate Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She married Willis (Bill) Wyard in Duluth on August 17, 1957.

Through Mr. Wyard’s employment, the Wyards were fortunate to live in Sydney, Tokyo, and Manila. Upon their return to the US in 1978 they lived in Boston, MA.

Mrs. Wyard was employed by Arthur Anderson LLP for 18 years. She retired from Arthur Anderson in 1997 and moved to Asheville.

She kept her membership starting in Duluth and was an active member throughout her moves to Battle Creek, MI, Bridgeport, CT, Boston and Asheville. This organization fueled her interest in Volunteerism. In Battle Creek, Mrs. Wyard was involved in Children’s Theatre, mostly working on scenery, and she typed large print books for partially sighted children in CT. While living in Asheville she volunteered at Mountain Area Hospice and The Lewis Rathbun Center, a Hospital Hospitality House for families who had loved ones in the local hospitals.
