Praying for Gods comfort. Scottie was a great person, I remember riding the school bus together it was so fun. Once in a while we would bump into one another as adults and we would chat like two old friends. It is sad when God takes a loved one so young. My heart aches for your family.
Scottie you were kind, funny and sweet. I will miss you and your quiet humor. The respect I had for you was immense. The way you treated your wife and children made me love and respect you. Carrie thought you were the moon and the stars. She loved you so much. And Casone and Lauren were so loved by their sweet Daddy. You my friend have left an amazing legacy with your sweet family. Thank you for showing me true love and loyalty through your family. I promise I will be there for them. Rest In Peace sweet Scottie ❤️
Scottie was always the best guy. Never a cross word, always smiling. My condolences.
Prayers
Sorry for your loss…Went to school with Scottie cool guy fun loving and caring you will be truly miss
Just know I love you cuz and I’m going to miss you…
I am in shock at this news. I’ve known Scottie since we were kids. I was at his wedding but I probably hadn’t seen him since around that time. Life just takes you different directions. I never knew him to be mean to anyone, just always a class act. One thing that stands out when I think of him is elementary school. I remember he had a funny way of holding his pencils and he could draw like no one I had ever met. I remember always thinking about how talented he was. My deepest and most sincere condolences to Carrie and all the family. I know he will be missed.
We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
Praying for Carrie and family. Through this time.
Our heart is broken in the passing of Scottie & for Carrie, Lauren, Casone & precious Hare & Ward family! Brent is devastated in his passing as he was a dear friend thru EMS & EHS, playing football, so much fun at our sch pool parties during summer & then coming over with the kids until Brent moved to TN & now FL! He was a wonderful sweet, loving kind person, may you hold on to the precious memories you have of him in your heart & may God give you peace & comfort during this difficult time! LU Karen & Bill!
Scottie was one of the few good guys in our business. Sorry for your loss.
To Carrie and the entire Ward family.
I am heartbroken to even write these words but I wanted you to know that Scottie was a wonderful man. He was funny, kind, loving, honest and led you to Jesus when you spoke with him. I remember when he and james coaches ya in softball at west Asheville you know when the Ward boys were together (I mean all of them) it was a good time. I have known them all for almost 30 years and I have known them to point people to Jesus. Guys there is no greater love than that from a brother and no greater loss either my heart goes out to you and know that I am praying for you. Lauren and Cason’s your pain is great because you grieve for a dad, what could have been and with your mom. Know that I pray for you all and ask God to hide you in his grace. Carrie girl you know I love you and I loved scottie. THere are no words I can say to take your pain away only thing I know is that God is gracious. I love you and am praying
So sorry for you lose, went to school with him, good guy. You all in our prayers.
Scottie, my Emma Elementary pal, I’m sorry we lost touch. I remember you break dancing on cardboard, teaching me how to ride a two wheeler, that funny way you held your pencil but drew the most amazing pictures. Living next door to you, sharing a childhood gave me memories I’ll always remember. Prayers for your wife, kids, your sweet mom and your brothers. I’ll see you again, friend.
I’m shocked! He was there for me when no one else was! I’m so sorry for your loss! Rip

This breaks my heart! I have worked at the Buncombe County Detention facility for 17 years and Scottie has been like a Co worker there for almost that long….I have many conversations with him and interactions. He alway’s was so polite and personable….my heart goes out to his family.
Simply can’t believe you’re gone…. I’ve known you and your brothers as long as I can remember… your mom treated me like one of her own…I know that one day the memories will bring smiles to your family instead of tears…you will be missed…I love you guys!
Asking God to draw you close and hold you in his loving arms
So shocked and saddened to hear of Scottie’s passing. We will be praying for Carrie and kids and all of his family. Unfortunately we can’t attend the service as I’m currently in hospital, but please know we are keeping you in prayer.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I know Scottie was like an uncle to my nephew ,Tannon, and a wonderful friend to my sister-in-law, Mei-Ling. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult and sad time.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Scottie was a terrific guy and very understanding friend. He will be missed. My condolences go out to all of his family.
I am so sorry for your loss Carrie and family. Scottie was a great friend to everyone he met. In high school, he was always laughing and joking. May you find comfort during this difficult time. May you find comfort and peace that only God can give you during this time. I am reminded of the scripture in 2 Timothy 4:7 ‘ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith’?. That was Sottie. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.
So truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all
I had the pleasure of meeting Scottie and his wife Carrie once or twice through some friends but felt like I knew him much longer! Very warm gentleman and great husband and father! My prayers go to Carrie, Lauren, and Casone and the entire family AND friends!
We are so sorry for your loss and we are

Sorry to hear about such a great person. He is with the lord and you will see him once again. He was a great mentor and friend. He told me that i should get my ged and become a bonds man. He will be missed. He will never be forgotten. I am praying for y’all.
So sorry to hear about Scottie. He was by far one of the best people I have had the pleasure to call a friend. From kindergarten thru senior year he always had a smile. I hadn’t seen him in years but I know that smile would have still been there. He will be truly missed. Our prayers to Carrie and the family.
It could be 5 days or 5 years but one thing never changed. Scottie would get a quick update on my life, then a huge smile would cross his face and his entire being would light up as he gave an update on Carrie & their children. May you be surrounded by love and your hearts filled with peace. Sending sincerest condolences and love to his family and dearest loved ones.
This truly breaks my heart. Scottie was such an amazing person. My prayers go out to all of his family and loved ones. May the peace of Christ comfort you all now and in the days to come.
I had the opportunity to be friends with Scottie starting in elementary school. He was a class act guy!!!! My condolences to Carrie and the family. He will be truly missed!!! I appreciate the opportunity to watch our children grow up in the same community together!!! We enjoyed some great times!!!!!! Miss you buddy!!!!!!
I was blessed to know Scottie and the Ward family at a young age.Its been almost 20yrs since I saw him he was a awesome friend was there for me alot in school.A great kind true friend and awesome family, my condolences,we all have a true Angel watching over us.
Why does the Good Ones always go first? Scottie is my cousin, we grew up together. Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of meeting Carrie Ann or the kids. Being the only girl of many boy cousins wasn’t the easiest task. However, Scottie was always the one to acknowledge I was there! He was a great comfort and a great Person All Around. God Bless You All. Until we see him again! Luv U Cuz!
I grew up with all these boys and think highly of them all. Scottie and I were pretty tight thru our school years but we haven’t seen each other in probably 15 years. Rest easy ole boy. Praying for the family.
Scottie was in my Cabinetmaking classes at Erwin High School, and was also an assistant in one in my intro classes. He was very patient with the younger students, very willing to share his knowledge and expertise.I have been out of town, and was going thru the old papers this morning when I saw his obituary. Saddened to see this, but, remembering him brought a smile to my heart. He was a good guy. God’s Peace to the family. Steve and Renne’
