Skylar Donahue

June 4, 1995 ~ January 7, 2019
Resided in:
Costa Mesa, California
Skylar James Donahue, beloved son of David and Tabitha Donahue, passed away unexpectedly on January 7th, 2019. He was taken from this world at the young age of only 23.
He is survived by his loving parents, David and Tabitha Donahue of Fletcher, NC, and his five siblings, Justin, Fallon, Paris, Maverick, and River Donahue. He was preceded in death by his loving maternal grandparents, Victor Paul and Martha Joseph, whom he always loved like second parents.
Skylar arrived as God's blessing to his family on June 4, 1995, and grew up in Asheville, NC, which he always considered to be his home no matter where he was. He attended T.C. Roberson High School in Asheville, NC, and later went off to study accounting at UNC Charlotte. He then moved to Costa Mesa, CA, where he became a successful and well respected Certified Debt Advisor at Century Support Services.
Skylar was a warm loving person to all of those around him. He placed his family first and foremost. He enjoyed fishing, white water rafting, attending sporting events, going to the beach, sky diving, gaming, and loved life in general. He adored animals and was kind to all people young and old. Skylar had a precious gift of adding sunshine and happiness into people's day even when they were down and sad. He left smiles behind him as he walked out of a room. But above all he cherished spending time with his beloved parents, brothers, and sisters.
The surmounting joy and treasured memories he brought into this world will be passed on to all those whose lives he touched, which was anyone who knew him.
Private services were held at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian where he was surrounded by only those whom meant the most to him, his closest intimate friends and immediate family.
Skylar James was taken to his final resting place and laid lovingly to rest where he would have wanted to be placed, next to his loving grandparents on January 19, 2019.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I never had the privilege of meeting Skylar, but it sounds like he was a wonderful young man and I am sure that he has left many wonderful memories for you to look back on. As you reflect on these memories, please take comfort in the scripture at 2 Thessalonians 2:16,17. May God strengthen you and bring you comfort during this difficult time and even though the pain may at times seem insurmountable, rest assured that God will give you the strength necessary to endure. (Psalm 94:17-19) Please accept my deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences.
The funeral was painfully beautiful. His older brother and mother wrote admirable tributes and put together a sweet slide show of his life. Skylar was so loved and would have been touched by each and every person there. He loved his parents and five siblings dearly, that’s all he ever talked about to me the summer he stayed with us. May God be with everyone who is grieving this tremendous loss. Gone too soon. 🙁
