Sr. Ethel Alice Lunsford, R.C.E.

A Funeral Mass for Sister Ethel Alice Lunsford, R.C.E., will be at 12:10 pm Monday in the Basilica of St. Lawrence, D.M.  The mass will be said by Msgr. John McSweeney.  Interment will follow in Lewis Memorial Park.
Sister Ethel Alice will be placed in the Basilica at 11 am Monday and a Rosary will be said at 11:30 am.

Sr. Ethel Alice was the daughter of the late Blackwell and Emma Chauvin Lunsford.  She entered the Religious of Christian Education in 1931 and received her final vows in 1938.  Sr. Ethel Alice was assigned to St. Eugene and St. Genevieve's schools in Asheville where she taught Music, French, Piano, Chorus and Sacristan.

She is survived by two brothers, John Blackwell Lunsford of Yorktown, VA, Alfred Kiffin Lunsford of Asheville; four sisters, Mary Louise Medford of Asheville, Catherine Kirwan of West Simsbury, Conn., Gloria Lange of Asheville and Emma Lyall Poole of Greenville, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Chauvin Kinsman and a brother, James Camille Lunsford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Asheville Catholic Community School or to the parish of one's choice.
