Susan Jane Taflinger

Susan Jane Taflinger, 75, of Concord, NC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 2, 2026. She was born on April 19, 1950, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Mary (Smarrella) and Ellsworth Dillon.

Susan was known for her compassion, gentle spirit, sharp wit, and the deep love she held for her family. She found joy in caring for animals, tending to her garden, and sharing her talent for cooking with those she cherished.

She retired from Ohio Bell after 30 years of dedicated service and later found fulfillment working in the bakery at Publix, where her kindness and warmth touched many.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Erica; her grandchildren, Carson and Kennedy; her son‑in‑law, Mike; her sisters, Nan and Kathy; and her brother, John. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Trent; her parents, Mary and Ellsworth; her brother, David; and her sister, Mary Ellen.

We will forever miss your loving heart, your grace, and your ability to listen with patience and understanding. Despite the tremendous heartache you endured, you continued forward with strength and resilience. May you now rest in peace, free from pain, reunited with your son Trent and the loved ones who went before you.

We love you, we miss you, and we will carry you with us until we are together again.

A celebration of life will be held in March with extended family in Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue at bwar.org.
