I worked with Sylvia for many years. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
I’m so sorry to hear of the unexpected passing of your mom. She was one great lady.
To Mike and other members of the Harris family. We loved your mother/grandmother. She was a role model for all young women – so strong and capable. The last time we saw Sylvia she as in church. Surely that’s how she would want to be remembered. Hers was an important presence in Asheville and an influential impact on so many lives. We miss her. Loretta (and Michael) Changery – we worked with Sylvia at the NCDC and taught Mike at AB Tech.
Sylvia will be missed at the grocery store on Merrmon Av. She would always come by the fish counter to say hello. I was honnored to call her my friend.
My heart is with you,
Michael(Sarge)Sargent
Dear family of my former co-worker Sylvia Hall Harris,
I am so saddened to learn of Sylvia’s passing.I remember her well as an intellectual, and as a very efficient & competent contributor toward the accomplishment of our mission at NCDC. Her pleasant and witful conversations with me & her other friends at work were always informative and intellectually stimulating. All of us in the workplace were truly blessed by her
presence and her professionalism! My condolences go out to all the family. Sincerely, Sam Hocking
To the Harris family,
I was sorry to hear about Sylvia. I worked with her at NCDC for 10 years. She was a truly amazing woman. We all loved to hear her talk of her life and her travels. She was one of a kind and will be remembered by all who knew her. May God comfort your hearts and bless you and your families. Donna Lefler and family
Sylvia was a bright, witty co-worker for many years. Always honest & kind … she gave me some candy when last I saw her a few (or was it more than a few?) years ago. I’ll remember her fondly.
I used to work with Sylvia at NCDC in Asheville. I enjoyed talking to her and listening to her tell stories of her life. She gave me a little gift one time, which I still have, and which reminds me of her. I’m sorry she’s gone.
We always loved seeing Sylvia come into our library. She was always checking out the most interesting books, and will be missed as one of our favorite patrons.
Sylvia and I lived in the same senior complex for several years. She loved her church, loved to walk and was a very good shopper. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Blessings and peace, Betty Nelon Rhodes
Sylvia is remembered as a faithful friend with a unique personality. Also, she was an honest and reliable employee. I have been blessed to have shared her life.
