Telma Eva Payne Buckner, 73, of 865 Jenkins Valley Rd., Alexander, died Monday, January 1, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Campus Mission Hospitals.
Mrs. Buckner was a daughter of the late Richard Gather and Arey Eva Bradburn Payne.
Mrs. Buckner retired from Stahlsac as a seamstress. Mrs. Buckner was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Buckner is survived by her husband, Dennis Buckner; son, Boyd McCaskill, of Alexander; sister, Ruby June Wallin, of Marshall; brothers, Mermon Payne, of Asheville, and Ruben Payne, of Marshall; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgeview Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Lanning and Gary Fender officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgeview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Boyd, I am so sorry for your loss, Telma or I called her Thelma, we worked together at Asheville Manufacturing Co. We worked side by side for 11 years. I will always remember her. You’ll come to realize that your time together, no matter how long was meant to be and that you were blessed to have such a precious gift of love in your life she loved you.
