Fletcher – Thomas Lee Calton, 62, of Fletcher, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, May 29, 2022 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock surrounded by loved ones.
A native of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Richard “Buddy” and Joyce Wilkie Calton.
He was employed at Wilsonart before retiring in 2017. He also owned and operated a successful lawn maintenance business that allowed him to enjoy his love for the outdoors.
He and his loving wife and best friend Geri enjoyed many adventures traveling and spending time together making memories.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Geri Ray Calton; a daughter, Lindsey Calton of Fletcher; step-daughter, Jennifer Israel (Tim) of Douglasville, GA; step-son, Jeremy Riddle (Victoria) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren who brought much joy to his life, Henry, Thomas and Lincoln Riddle; one brother, Mike Calton (Lynn) as well as Thomas’ special furry friend, “Max”.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Fletcher First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you consider making a contribution to Trinity Baptist Church, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Geri I’m so sorry. I don’t know what else to say. Sending you much love, prayers and love.
Tom was a light in the world. We had such good times at Wilson-Art as well as just hanging out as friends after I left there. It had been thirty years since we reconnected on Facebook and I am thankful for that short time. You will be missed by all that knew you. Go rest High on That Mountain.
