We have known Tom for many years, having been introduced to him through Bill and Wanita Edmiston. The four of us spent happy days in his home in Asheville (in the country), at the park in Florida, and on Eola Avenue. His departure from this life leaves a hole in our hearts that no one else can fill. Tom was a southern gentleman in the best sense of the word and we will miss him.
I am one of Thomas Reide’s eleven first cousins. I remember most, the times he would visit our large family in High Point and the laughter he brought because of the funny things that were always happening. For years these stories have been recalled to bring happy memories of our youth with him, even today.
“Thompy†you will be missed.

We are certainly going to miss Thomas Reide. What a beloved family member he has always been.
Mom(Marline Lowe Thomas) always called him her favorite first cousin. They continued to have phone chats of the memories and funny happenings of days gone by until her death. Imagine them having such clear minds to be able to enjoy recounting the great times until their last days with us. What a blessing it has been for our generation to continue to hear family stories and family history from Thomas Reide and the others. His laugh was contagious and his kindness sincere. We have lovely memories of him and will miss him so much.
