Asheville Butterfly TrailA native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Peter and Emma Ball Jenkins. He was a former plumber with the C.L. Seastrunk Company.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Brown Jenkins; four sons, Mark Woodby of Asheville, and Mike, Dale and Aaron Jenkins of Weaverville; four sisters, Rosie Dietz, Dora Hawkins, Rhoda Jenkins and Pauline Haney of Asheville, and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Ashelawn Gardens with the Rev. Tarold Stanton officiating.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the residence.
