VERNIE R. SPRINKLE Vernie Rogers Sprinkle, 93, of 213 Old Home Road, Weaverville, died Saturday, February 12, 2000, at a local hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Robert Edward and Demarris Rosetta Sluder Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Grey Sprinkle, who died in 1984. She was a member of Abernathy United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Marie Shook of Weaverville, Evelyn Sabiston of Asheville and Karen Lindsay of Concord; two sisters, Reva R. Rector of Asheville and Ruth R. Helton of Tampa, FL; nine grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10:30 am Monday, February 14, 2000, at Green Hills Cemetery with the Reverend Dan Bowers officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:30-5:00 pm, Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
