Vernon M. Merrell

Services for Pete Merrell will be held at 6 pm Tuesday, May 5th, 1998 in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Harold Savell and James I. Walker officiating.  Interment will be at 11 am Wednesday in Green Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Biltmore Baptist Church, 980 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC 28803 or to the American Heart Assn., 50 S. French Broad Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801. Mr. Merrell is survived by his wife, Marie, and by two daughters, Deana M. Freeman, and her husband Darrell, of Jamestown, NC and Marlene M. Flanders, and her husband Jerry, of Augusta, GA; a brother, Powell Merrill of Rigelwood, NC; two grandchildren, Kimberly F. Gauldin, David Carter and a great-grandson, William Gauldin.
