Violet M. Benson, 91, of Colonial Heights, VA, formerly of Asheville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, at Colonial Heights Healthcare Center.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Lee Miller and Matilda Price Miller. For over thirty years she was a loyal employee of Schiffman's Jewelers in Asheville, NC.
She is survived by her loving family, daughters Lynn Weis (Dick) of Colonial Heights, VA, and Sandra Harenza (John) of Knoxville, TN, as well as grandson Rick (Becca) Weis and their children Kate, Nick, and Jan all of Richmond, VA, and granddaughter Emily Harenza of Knoxville, TN.
She is also survived by her sister Gladys Davis and a very special niece, Susan Hoglen.
A service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Today, I learned from Phyllis Gardner of Mrs Benson death. I worked with your Mom at Schiffman’s from 1979 to 1983. Your Mom was a very special lady and I enjoyed knowing her since that time. You and your family is in God’s light with my thoughts and prayers…Peace…
