W.D. "Dean" Pearson

Candler – Wilbur “Dean” Pearson, 89, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022, at CarePartners Solace Center.

Mr. Pearson was born August 18, 1932, in Haywood County, to the late Bura and Marie Justice Pearson. He was the owner of Pearson Oil Co.

Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife, Janie Sexton Pearson; children, Diane Bartlett, Tommy Pearson (Mary), Donna Stewart (Joey), Sharon Britt (Donald), and Jim Cabe (Ayako); 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Brenda Raines and Carlyn Calloway, special niece and nephew Jody and Craig Reagan. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 64 years, Corena Pearson, a son, Mike Pearson, brothers Morris Pearson, Lewis Pearson, Carroll Pearson and Bobby Pearson, and a son in law Jody Bartlett.

Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Sunday at Maple Ridge Baptist Church, Candler, with burial to follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
