Ward H. Ledford

Ward H. Ledford, 77, of 8 Windmere Dr., Fairview, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals. Mr. Ledford was born in Yancey Co. and was a son of the late Geter E. and Clara Robertson Ledford. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Nora Sparks, and two brothers, Stanley and Wayne Ledford. Mr. Ledford worked at Morgan Manufacturing and Drexel Heritage Furniture for 50 years. Mr. Ledford is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gloria M. Ledford; three step-sons, Michael Myers, of Atlanta, GA, David Myers, of Gainesville, GA, and Patrick Myers, Woodstock. GA; sisters, Doris L. Hooper, of Greenville, SC, and Evelyn Turner, of Morristown, TN; brother, Lawrence Ledford and wife Ann, of Asheville; seven step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
