We are sad to announce the passing of Wilford Gerald McClendon of Mills River, NC. He died at the age of 88 on the afternoon of June 21, 2023.
Bill was born in Lisbon, Ohio and was a veteran of the Korean War. His passion and his career were spent in the automotive industry. He passed away at home peacefully while listening to music sung by a hospice caregiver.
It was Bill’s wish not to have a funeral service, but cremation at the Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia McClendon; his son, Jeffrey Gerald McClendon; and his two daughters, Kathleen Kelly McClendon and Colleen Kerry McClendon. He had five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
