Willa Jean Watson Bumgardner, 88, of Asheville, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016.
A native of Jackson County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Myrtle Owen Watson and was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. Bumgardner.
She is survived by one son, William Michael Bumgardner, one grandson, Brandon Bumgardner; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Bumgardner; two sisters, Bobbie Goforth and Claudette Moore and one brother, Andrew Dale Watson.
She was a member of Fanning Chapel United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Fanning Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mike Phelps officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is serving the family.

I am so sad to hear of Jean’s passing. I cherish the time that she worked with me at Boone’s. She was a wonderful person. My prayers are with her family at this time.
As you mourn the passing of our beloved Jean, may God touch your lives in a way that truly soothes your heart and brings you peace. She will be missed. I have many fond memories of Jean.
