William Bennett Clark

William Bennett (Ben) Clark, 77, of 837 Case Cove Road, Candler, died Wednesday, January 20, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.
Mr. Clark was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Willie Frederick and Lela Bennett Clark. He was a graduate of Christ School in Arden, NC. He was the retired owner and operator of Sky-Line Construction Co. in Asheville and of Line Equipment Co. and Buyers, Inc. of Charlotte, where he lived from 1967 until 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Sanders Clark; three daughters, Carole C. Williford of Cullowhee, Cherie C. Shaw of Candler, and Pam C. McAnulty of Charlotte; a brother, Grady Wayne Clark and his wife, Pat P. Clark, of Oak Ridge, TN; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at St. James Episcopal Church, 766 North Main Street, Hendersonville, with the Rev. Alex Viola presiding.
His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the St. James Room of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the organ fund of St. James Episcopal Church, PO Box 1046, Hendersonville, NC 28793-1046.
Groce Funeral Home, Asheville, is in charge of the arrangements.
