William Daniel Creasman (Bill), 80, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 8th at Mission Hospital.

Bill was born in Asheville to the late Edwin and Relda Creasman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin Jerry Creasman (Jerry), Thomas Luther Creasman (Tom) and John Wayne Creasman (Wayne), his brother-in-law, James Young and his niece, Julia Diane Manuel.

Bill graduated from Lee Edwards High School in 1963, Asheville Buncombe Technical College in 1965 and thereafter served almost 9 years in the NC National Guard. In 1971, Bill graduated from North Carolina Military Academy Office Candidate School and was honorably discharged in 1972 as a 2Lt. Together with his brother Wayne, the two formed C&C Chemical Company in 1972. He served as President until his retirement in 2020.

Bill is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 57 years, Joan Dickerson Creasman; two sons, John Thomas Creasman and his wife Tandace, Jeremy Daniel Creasman and his wife, Carrie, and his namesake grandson, William Daniel Creasman, who was the apple of his eye; sister, Virginia (Ginger) Young; sister-in-law, Louise Creasman; nieces, Debra Young Brown and Donna Young Kocot; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

True to his mountain heritage, Bill enjoyed gardening, growing show quality dahlias, hunting, fishing and maintaining care of his home in Leicester and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending time at the family farm in Georgia.

Bill will be remembered for his integrity, generosity and kindness to all. He never met a stranger, he always gave more than he took and made sure everyone was taken care of before himself. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation in Bill’s name to Brother Wolf.

My husband and both my sons loved him so much, and Johnny, my husband loved spending time with him. We were neighbors for a long time, and he taught my oldest son to drive, even letting him drive his cherished ’53 Ford! He was a very special person and my heart goes out to Joan and the boys.
