WILLIAM JAMES DODD William James “Bill” Dodd, 49, of 75 Glendale Avenue, Asheville, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at his home. Mr. Dodd was born in Buncombe County and was a member of Oakley Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, William Henry Dodd of Asheville and Helen Pruitt of Michigan; a son Brian Dodd and his wife Jessica of Mountain Home; three daughters Lilly Maye Dodd, Rachel Dodd, and Ashley Dodd, all of Weaverville; one granddaughter Callie Maye Dodd; and two sisters, Wilma of Florida and Debbie of Michigan. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Pruitt officiating. Burial will be at Skyview Memorial Park. His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the home of his father at 10 Middle Grassy Branch. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the family.
