William Keith Cloer, 83, of Swannanoa, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
A native of Valdese, NC, he was a son of the late William Jason and Minnie Belle Cloer. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Cloer, and his partner, Betty Jo White.
Mr. Cloer was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and retired from G.E.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Karen Taylor; grandchildren, Emily and Noah Taylor; sister, Ramona Cloer Wilkinson and husband Robert "Mouzon" Wilkinson, of Statesville; niece, Sheila Wnuk, of Pennsylvania; and nephew, Randy Wilkinson, of Conover.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

We miss you so much,papaw.Not a day goes by that when we come down that long driveway,we expect to see you on the front porch smoking your pipe with Peyton by your side.No matter how bad you felt,you insisted on helping carry in the groceries.We will miss your funny jokes,singing to your own tune,and making life a happier place for all of us.
