Willie Alexander Jackson

Willie Arabel Alexander Jackson, 96, died Monday, May 3, 1999 in a local health care facility.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Lewis and Callie Shepherd Alexander and wife of the late Dewey McKinley Jackson, Sr. She was a member of the Avery’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Nellie Taylor of Asheville; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by her other siblings. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia A. Ingle; son, Dewey M. Jackson, Jr.; grandson, Robert Ingle, Jr. and a granddaughter, Mona D. Warren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Thursday in the Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ben Austin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian and at other times will be at the home of Margaret Jackson, 24 McDonald Road, Arden.
