Willie Price Lance

Willie Price Lance, 94, of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, Willie was a son of the late French and Myrtle Cochran Lance. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lorenzo Lance and Morris Lance and one sister, Betty Lance Metcalf. Willie was a proud WWII Veteran, having served his country in the US Army. He retired after 42 years of service at American Enka, where he earned the title of supervisor of the spinning department. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Edna Mae Rickman Lance; step-son, Jim Haney and his wife, Mary Ann; step-daughter, Kathy Grooms and her husband, David; one brother, French Lance and six nephews. His funeral service, with Military Honors, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 6 in the Chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
