Woody L. Reeves, 88, died Sunday, November 22, 2015.
A native of Madison Co., he was a son of the late Burnett and Nota Woody Reeves. He was also preceded in death by brothers Wayne, H.B., and Burton Reeves.
Mr. Reeves was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired from the North Carolina State Forest Service after thirty-four years of service. He was a farmer, hunter, and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Bell United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-seven years, Louise Felmet Reeves; daughter, Rose Jones and husband Larry; sister Mary Lou Reeves Parham; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave., with Chaplain Brian Williams officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Highland Cemetery.

Rose Ellen, Larry & Louise, So very sorry to hear of Woody’s death. I have such fond memories of being in your home many times. The birthday parties, sleep overs, snow sledding and jeep rides through the fields long before we were old enough to drive. I know he loved his family so much and it showed. My love and prayers are with you all.

When my modular house was set, Woody came to watch. He said, ‘This is exciting!’ I never could figure out if he was excited that I was getting a new house or he was just excited to see the actual process. He stayed all day and talked with
Pop. I they thought that they were supervising the operation! My sincere sympathy to a family who has endured many losses this year.
