Zora Bradford Shields Taylor, 89, formerly of Candler, died Monday, March 5, 2001 in a Kingsport, TN, nursing facility.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Joe B. and Pansy Brown Bradford. She was also preceded in death by her husband’s,
Harry Shields in 1967 and Herman Taylor in 1974. She was a retired employee of American Enka with 22 years of service and a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Jessie Lee of Kingsport, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Revs. Charles Sams
and Claude Surrett will officiate.
Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 Friday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue.
Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.

My deepest sympathies go out to you on the loss of your sister and aunt.
I really appreicate, now more as an adult, the way Zora cared for and loved my grandfather. She was a comfort to him.
I have many memories of Zora it would be hard to point out just one. I really always remember us caring for Mimi, her dog.
