Clifton G. Moffitt, 85, of Arden, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at CarePartners Hospice, Asheville.
Born in Buncombe County, he was the husband of Faye (Searcy) Moffitt of Asheville, and the son of the late Osburne and Shirley (Nanney) Moffitt. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha Dalton.
A Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of Biltmore Church, Arden.
Clifton enjoyed outings with his family, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Clifton is survived by his children: Lynne Guge and husband Scott, of Waynesville; Brian Moffitt and wife Sharon, of Statesville; and Neal Moffitt and wife Janice, of Gastonia; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dean Moffitt, of Bessemer City, NC; and two sisters, Betty Buckner, of Lake Lure, and Peggy Congdon, of Black Mountain.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, at Biltmore Church, 35 Clayton Rd., Arden with Rev. Sam McLamb officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial, with military honors, will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
His grandchildren will serve as his pallbearers.
