Clarence K. Simpson, 85, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Pisgah Manor.
Born in Johnson City, TN, Mr. Simpson was a son of the late James and Sudie McCracken Simpson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris R. Simpson.
He served eight years in the US Navy and was retired after 41 years from the sales staff of Skyland Automotive. Mr. Simpson lived his Christian faith. For many years he provided a New Testament (ear marked to Colossians 1:10) with every car he sold. He also will be remembered for the many personal birthday and anniversary cards he mailed to friends/customers.
He was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Susie Simpson (Damaris); son, Tim Simpson (Sharon); grandchildren, James, John and Jared Simpson and Miranda Shipman; and a brother, James Herbert Simpson (Sybil).
A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The US Navy Memorial Team will provide military honors.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A private burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.
