MSgt. Henry "Hank" Mann, Jr., U.S. Army (Ret.), also known affectionately as "Junior," 83, of Candler, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
A native of Dickenson Co., VA, Hank was a son of the late Henry, Sr., and Lizzie Cooper Mann. One of 13 children, he was preceded in death by 11 of his siblings.
Mr. Mann proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, working specifically in Military Intelligence. After retiring from the Army, Hank worked for and retired from Vulcan Materials Co. as a scale clerk. He was also a member of Good News Baptist Church.
Mr. Mann is survived by his wife, Nola "Sue" Keith Mann; children, Sandy Mann, Shelia Worley (Ronnie), Dennis Mann (Donna) and Jennifer Wright (B.C.); sister, Hattie "Sis" Morgan; grandchildren, Michael Worley (Holly), James Worley, Tony Wilson, Lauren Lunsford (Philip) Daniel Worley, Justin Wilson (Lex), Jarrod Wright, and Jordyn Wright; great-grandchildren, Madison, Jazmine, Noelle, Chloe, Karlee, Gavin, Jaxon, and Clara; and many other family members.
The funeral service for Mr. Mann will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13, at Good News Baptist Church with the Pastors Steve Smith and Jacob Smith officiating.
Interment with full military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
