Dr. George Edgar Bowen, II, 78, died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at home.
Born in Chevy Chase, MD to the late George Edgar Bowen, I, and Kathryn Casey Bowen, he was a graduate professor of UTK, Cayman Islands, Portugal and Cypress. He was a member of the Destin Coast Guard Auxilary where he performed search and rescue missions. He is preceded in death by daughter, Colleen Bowen.
He is survived by his devoted wife of sixteen years, Angie Galler Bowen. He was a loving father of four daughters, Michelle Bowen, Tara Hanouskova, Danielle Scheurer (Mark) and Tara McDonald; nine grandchildren, Savannah, Casey, Katie, Leddy, Olivia, Bowen, Sydney, Griffin and Lukas; step-son, Justin Kress (and his children); brother, Casey Bowen (Debra); sister, Karen Fisher (Bill); Jubal Tiner; and brothers-in-law, Randy Galler (Kyra), Steve McCoy (Susan Galler), Phil Price (Gina Galler) and Jeff Galler (Shelia).
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 2, at 2:00 p.m., at Groce UMC with Rev. Gerald Davis officiating.
