Juanita Hancock McCormack, 84, of Candler, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living.
A native of Phenix City, AL, Juanita was a daughter of the late Jesse Nathaniel Hancock and Rachel Lumpkin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe H. McCormack, Jr., son, Joe McCormack, III, sisters, Ann House and Frances Higgins, and brother, Willard Hancock.
Mrs. McCormack was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also served on the PTA at Aycock Elementary, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and was an adviser to Younger Beta Sigma Phi.
Surviving are her sons, Kenneth McCormack (Elizabeth), and David McCormack; grandchildren, Kristi, Niki, Ashley, Rachel, Hayley, Coleman, Caroline, and Jessie; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel, Breanna, Elenie, Aaliah, Alexander, and Faith; daughter-in-law, Margaret McCormack; sister, Betty Rohrbaugh; brother, Jesse "Skippy" Hancock; and best friend, Clay Robertson.
A gathering of friends and family for Mrs. McCormack will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Trinity United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain, with the Rev. Nancy Dixon Walton officiating.
