Wilburn H. Parham, 88, a native of Candler, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at his home in Blackshear, Georgia.
Mr. Parham was a son of the late Rev. Albert and Daisy Parham. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Coin Parham, and a brother, Milburn Parham.
He attended Candler School and was an Air Force veteran of WWII. He was retired after 39 years with Western-Southern Life Insurance Company, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mr. Parham is survived by his wife, Lucille Parham; a son, Doug (Janet) Parham of Batavia, Ohio; a daughter, Darlene (Gary) Jarnagin of McDonough, Georgia; one brother, Grady (Wilma) Parham of Candler; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug Parham and Gary Jarnagin officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes before the services.
