Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Mamaw was one of the strongest, funniest, and kindest women I have ever met. Losing her was one of the greatest losses I have ever experienced. Her and I got along very good we kind of shared the same personality, she will be deeply missed. Nana and Maureen, be strong, that is how she would want it.

  2. Nina and Maureen, I have so many wonderful memories of your mother. She was a very, very special person. Her sense of humor was amazing and I enjoyed knowing her so much. It’s so hard losing a mother. There is no one who shares the same bond as a mother and daughter and she sure loved you both. I remember thinking she was the absolute perfect mother and she never gave me a reason to think otherwise. My heart is with you.

  3. Nana,

Mamaw Alice was a very strong willed & funny lady who will be greatly missed. Her sense of humor was amazing- she always had a comeback. We will sure miss her….we can imagine her in heaven seeing papaw again…bet he has already given her a wooden nickel. We LOVE you very much and are keeping you in our prayers. Stay strong.

    Love, The Gang

  4. To Aunt Alices’ family, we were so
happy to meet her, after not knowing my fathers (Wilburn) family. May god bless you all, and
may Alice rest in eternal peace. Our Love Nancy Nelon Grout and Jim Grout

  5. I can remember Mamaw from when I was very young, until just Saturday, the last time I saw her. I remember living in Alaska, and hardly knowing her at all, yet she always sent me some sort of a gift or card for every holiday. I don’t know many Great Grandparents that make efforts like that for their Great-Grandchildren. Once I finally got older and started visiting, and eventually moved to NC and got to know Mamaw better, I fell in love with her sense of humor and vibrance. I know that I have only known her very well for the last 10 years, but for her to have such wonderful children shows what an absolutely beautiful woman inside and out she really is. It is very selfish of me to be sad, and want her to stay here because she is in the place where we are all so excited to end up! But…I can’t help but be sad and miss her. I’m jealous of her that she’s meeting Jesus, and very glad that she doesn’t have to suffer anymore. Aunt Maureen and Grandma Nina, I love you both and I know that this is a hard time for you. I hope that you know how much I care.

  6. I was never able to meet Aunt Alice but I enjoyed corresponding with her over the years. Her faith in the Lord was evident in her love for family. To her immediate family, we send our deepest sympathy and prayers. May God comfort you at this time.

  7. I’m very sorry to hear about aunt Alice’s passing. My heart goes out to all of the family. May God give all of you comfort at this time and in the day’s to come. Love Connie and Family
