Dear Leroy, Patty, Sandy and family. I am so sorry for your lost. Ruby was a wonderful woman. I enjoyed having her in my sewing classes. She was always so interesting and taught me as much or more than I taught her. If I ever had a question about gardening or canning I could always ask her and she could answer it for me. I will truly miss her. God bless you all.

Dear family of Ruby,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Ruby. I worked with Ruby at the Health Department and had the privilege of making many home visits with her to families whom she so capably helped and guided through the years. Ruby was also a mentor and role model to many of us who worked with her. My prayers are with you as you go through this time of loss.
Sandy and Patty, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I have many fond memories of her as I was growing up and spending lots of time at your house. She was a special lady. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I am very sorry to hear of Ruby’s passing. I worked with her for several years at the Health Dept. Ruby was one of those nurses you rarely see anymore. She was so dedicated to her ‘babies’. Ruby was among a special group of public health nurses in NC that pioneered the High Risk Infant Tracking program that provided care and support to mothers and babies in getting off to a good start. She was an invaluable liason with the hospitals and the doctors; and a staunch advocate for her families. Ruby’s desk was right behind mine, and she answered many a question for us young nurses in the day. A true public health nursing treasure in NC. We will remember Ruby with great fondness.
Dear family of Ruby: I had the great honor of working with Ruby years ago. What an amazing woman! She was an exceptional person and nurse who genuinely loved those ‘babies’. She will be missed.
To Ruby’s family: I’m so sorry for your loss. My mother and Ruby were very good friends in the French Broad community. I certainly would have paid my respects by going to the funeral but was taking my mother, Thelma Ponder, home from the hospital at that time. I will always remember Ruby as such a huge help when my grandmother Mace died. If you need us, just let us know.
To the family of Ruby Embler,
This is a tragic loss. Ruby was a nurse at heart ,and a friend to everyone she met. I was young when I met her and she came to explain to me why, I had lost my own daughter in 1982, as a nurse from the Health Department. We both cried in as I was having a hard time back then, she just held me. She was ,and will always be a nurse, now a nurse with wings ,and a halo. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her. God gave us all an angel when Ruby was born. I send my thoughts and prayers to you. May God Bless you though your loss. My prayers are with you.
