Margaret Ray Emory, 84, of Asheville, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at the home of her son David "Rick" Emory.
She was born January 4, 1928 in Buncombe County, the daughter of the late Reverend John E. Ray and Zelma West Ray.
She is survived by her sons John R. Emory, Jr. and wife, Gail, David "Rick" Emory and wife, Sandra; one daughter, Barbara Freeman and her husband, Clyde, all of Asheville; grandchildren Layla Emory, Brittiany Emory, Aaron Emory, and Sabrina Sprinkle; and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Malana.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, John R. Emory, Sr., July 7, 2008.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Willard James Pruitt officiating.

Your family is in my prayers, Bob. It is hard to lose a parent, but God will guide you through your grief.
Bob and Rick, I was saddened to hear of your mothers death. Sorry I didn’t learn of the service in time to attend. Know that God is with each of you and certainly you will garner peace with this knowledge. Be assured I will be lifting each of you up in my prayers. Mothers are very special people.
