Walter Keith Lance, 47, of Sheep Rock Rd., Candler, died Sunday, December 9, 2012. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of Patsy Massie Lance and of the late James Aaron Lance. Mr. Lance was a manager for Tractor Supply. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Brandy Lance; sons Garrett Taylor Lance of Sheffield, AL, and Orey J. Lance, of Candler; granddaughter Adrienne Lance of Candler; and a sister, April Lance. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Brown's View United Methodist Church. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

    I met Keith in the 7th grade at Candler Elementary and graduated high school with him in 1983. I remember him all too well. Big smile and good attitude all the time. Sad to hear about his passing. He was way too young.

  35. I was sadden to hear of Keith’s passing. There were about 16 of us kids who were on the Pisgah View Ranch clogging team when we were in elementary school and he and April were two of the originals like me. We all danced for many years together for many years and won alot of clogging competitions and had really good times. I pray now for comfort for your family and all his loved ones. Blessed are those who rely on the Lord.

Got to see Keith last year and it brought back so many good memories. Lots of time spent together. When I left one thing I knew for sure was that he loved and was so proud of his kids.
